Die ornamenten sollen getragen werden von eiuigen edel leuten von der guarde, sonsten ist auch geordonniret das die gantze guarde in den waffen soll voran gehen, und das nach der leiche die respective collegiën der Staeten General, des Eaths von Staeten, der Generaliteten Rechencammer, der Staeten von Holland, der hoven von justitie sollen folgen, dernach die nahisten freunde.

Der Spanischer ambassador hat für wönig tagen an die Staeten General geclaegt und reperation versuchet über den excess, so der capitain Cornélis Tromp hat begangen auf dass Mittlandische Meehr im haven von Sparta de Milano, da er ein englische kauffardey schiff im haven unter das castel hat geattaquiret.

The 31" August at night, when wee put off from our owne shore, had some of our officers together, by whome was rcsolved what I heare send your Honour *). The l8t at tenn of the clocke forenoone had this holding off the Foureteens off the Texell; it begun to blow hard and raine, the wind S. W. I called the officers together to have theire judgements concerning what had passed, which they approved of; before they could gett on board their shipps againe it proved very stormy, soe laid our ships head to the Norward in our maine sailes; tryed all that day and the night in our mainsailes and missen.

The 2d in the forenoone one of the merchant ships bound for Hamburgh sett his forecourse, put out his ensigne and bore awaye; soe I gave she signall to the convoyes to beare after, which they did, but the comander of the Paule was not aboard; his orders were sent by captain Haward comander of the Gilliflower who had not weather after that to conveye them, soe I sett the Gallyott boye attending this shipp to looke for the Pauk and acqüaint him with it, but she could not finde her; soe we fired a gun at the Seven Brothers being a little in the winde of us, whoe bore under our sterne
