Een thee-klok stond gezellig stomend op tafel, terwijl een heel ingewikkelde klok op wieltjes naar de haard rolde en brood begon te roosteren. Keurig op tijd kantelde de theeklok en schonk thee in. „Tjonge,1' zei Panda, die dit alles met grote ogen aankeek. „Doen Uw klokken dat allemaal zomaar vanzelf?!" „Niets zomaar," antwoordde de klokkenmaker. „Alles geschiedt hier te rechter tijd. Punktelijk vier uur rolt der roostklok naar der haard en vangt der thceklok aan zich te warmen. Alles mechanisch, wat?" „Ik vind het erg knap," zei Panda bewonderend. „Met die klokmechaniekjes zult U wel altijd alles precies op tijd krijgen." De klokkenmaker knikte, terwijl hij het goudgeel geroosterd brood in ontvangst nam, dat de roost-klok hem toeschoof. „Alles zeer handzaam, wat?" zei hij. „Ik reguleer die klokken en die klokken, zij reguleren mijne dag." --- FLASH GORDON No. 1330. 1) Op het radiostation waar de „beesten” volgens de berichten gevangen zijn genomen...
