Vous verrés comme les Francois qui estoient sur le vesseau de l'admiral de Ruyter 1'ont sauvé d'un brulot que les enemis luy avoient detaché. ^Si, par malheur, Tromp ne se fust pas trop esloigné de l'admiral de Ruyter, en suivant avec trop de chaleur Schmit admiral du pavillon bleu, la flotte angloise auroit esté deffette. Mais, les trente vesseaus de son escadre n'ayant peu soutenir de Ruyter, il a eu toute la flotte angloise sur les bras, a la reserve des vingt que Schmit commandoit. II s'en est retiré glorieusement.
