for the breach of any special condition or restriction as on the day of the date of such breach subject neyertheless to such b o n a, f i d e demises and dispositions of the same or any part thereof as may have been registered in the office of the Registering Officer at least one1 month previously to such dates respectively and the said property maybeforthwith taken possession of by any person or persons authorised thereto in writing by the Governor.

9. Any person managing or assisting in the management of or acting as manager or office-bearer of any Society ordered to be suppressed under section seven hereof shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or to imprisonment of either description for a period not exceeding twelve months or to both fine and imprisonment; and

any person attending any meeting of any such Society or otherwise acting as a menber of any such Society shall be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars orto imprisonment of either description for a period not exceeding six months or to both fine and imprisonment.

10. The Governor in Council may from time to timeby Order declare with respect to any Chinese Society or Hoey in such Order mentioned that it is unlawful for any person other than a Chinese subject born in China of Chinese parents to be a member thereof. Any person not beings a Chinese subject born in China of Chinese parents who after the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the publication of such Order in the G o v e r n m e n t Gazette shall be found to be a member of such Society shall, in the absence of proof that he had no knowledge of such Order, be liable to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or to imprisonment of either description for a period not exceeding six months or to both fine and imprisonment.
